A little history

Created in 1887 from Tom Green County and named for the Upton brothers, John Cunningham and William Felton, both Confederate officers. McCamey was a 1925 oil-boom town that briefly had 10,000 residents. Today Upton produces from the Wolfcamp, Spraberry, and Bone Spring stacked plays.
